Purchasing

The W/M Display Group, a manufacturer of retail fixtures, is looking for a responsible and results oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team. Applicant must have strong written and verbal communication skills, be motivated and well organized, and work well both independently and with a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Source and qualify new domestic and international vendors and parts.

Purchase parts as required for production that meet or better estimated prices, ensure parts meet design specifications and tolerances, and ensure delivery dates.

Purchase goods as related to other needs, maintenance, office, and shop supplies, etc.

Expedite the delivery of all ordered parts.

Oversee the returns and credits of defective materials purchased.

Negotiate raw material and service contracts (negotiate terms, prices, etc.)

Assist in the processing of material receipts and Accounts Payables.

Review vendor performance.

Obtain required SDS documentation.

Assign material costs to completed production jobs and close jobs as requested. Prepare production specifications for material and purchase orders.

Update ERP database for materials and vendors as required

Oversee monthly and yearly inventory counts and valuations as required.

Inspect all production items received.

Contact vendors to confirm delivery dates.

JOB SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

· Associate’s in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or similar field

· 3 years experience with purchasing and inventory management

· Great communication and interpersonal abilities for internal and external customers

· Excellent time management and organizational skills

· Mechanical and material knowledge in a job shop environment a plus

· Ability to understand and combine multiple projects and negotiate volume discounts with vendors

· Ability to identify/analyze problems and make recommendations, bring projects to completion without constant supervision

· Familiarity with import from Mexico and/or China

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
