The Division of Purchasing is seeking a new Purchasing Agent to assist with the administrative functions of managing purchase orders and contracts within the State’s finance system, as well as supporting contract management support for state agencies.
This position can be filled as a Purchasing Agent II or a Purchasing Agent III, depending on the skills and qualifications of the chosen candidate.
Purchasing Agent II: $23.93 - $37.95/hour
Purchasing Agent III: $26.67 - $42.30/hour
Principal Duties
As a Purchasing Agent you will:

Prepare quotes, bids, requests for proposals (RFPs) and contracts.

Manage statewide cooperative contracts.

Conduct vendor outreach on statewide cooperative contracts for contract management.

Oversee and assist with procurement decisions for the State of Utah Executive Branch agencies.

Assist in the improvement of policies and procedures for the division.

Research market conditions, life cycle cost analysis, cost-benefit relationship analysis, and alternative supply sourcing.

Assist in creating Purchase Orders and processing contracts in the finance system.

Assist in contract management support of agency contracts.

Conduct data analysis on contracts.
The Best Qualified Candidate
The best qualified candidates for this position will have:

Experience using FINET (or CGI Financial) for creating purchase orders and contracts.

Experience in contract management.

Experience in public procurement.

Proficient computer skills.
Public procurement is defined as the contracting and purchasing of goods and services by a public entity, such as government departments.
