Purchasing Assistant

Position Summary:

Supports purchasing/production/sales functions while performing various tasks to help streamline operations. There is a great opportunity for growth in this role.

Standard Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Process contract reviews, hot requests and change orders.

2. Review weekly open order reports for ERP System. Expedite past due orders and update purchase orders accordingly. Communicate delivery discrepancies to the order originator.

3. Send purchase orders when required and ensure vendor acknowledgements are received promptly. Review and enter supplier acknowledgements and update delivery dates in the system. Effectively communicate pricing, delivery, or other discrepancies impacting orders to the Sales Team or Production Manager.

4. Maintain department records by filing orders and related documents on a timely basis.

5. Assist in updating vendor pricing (tariffs) and lead times as necessary. Review supplier invoice discrepancies.

6. Assist in order entry of shop requirements for non-stock purchases.

7. Aid in the return of rejected parts when required.

8. Comply with Company Policies and Procedures; observe Safety Rules and Regulations.

9. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.

Working Conditions:

1. Job Shop and office environment.

2. Rapidly changing priorities.

3. Forty-hour work week

4. Safety protection required while in manufacturing area.

5. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Requirements/Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Administrative experience and knowledge of manufacturing business processes

3. Expediting Experience is a plus

4. Take initiative and self-motivated

5. Experience with Microsoft Office

6. Effective communication skills with peers, management, employees and vendors.

7. Effective problem solving skills. Detail oriented/sense of urgency.

8. Team player, works cooperatively with others to solve problems and willingly helps others when assistance is needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
