Assistant Buyer

Description:

T&C Surf Designs is currently looking for a full-time Assistant Buyer to be part of our buying team. This individual will assist our Buying team with administrative, operational and organizational support. The position requires a business-minded, self-motivated professional with passion and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and have a strong desire to be part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:-Support Buyer on all day-to-day functions of the department.

-Manage the purchase order process including input, confirmations, maintenance, tracking, delivery and resolution of problems.

-Manage Return-To-Vendor processing.

-Responsible for preparing and analyzing reports.

-Analyze sales and stock levels for transfer and markdown management.

-Assists with the communication and follow-up with Vendors, Stores, Marketing, Accounting, Visual Merchandising and Warehouse personnel.

-Responsible for staying up-to-date on the market trends.

-Research fashion trends and direction with recommendation of new products.

-Ensure all project deadlines are met.

-Complete other duties as assigned to meet company goals.

Qualifications:-Bachelor’s degree (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements).-Proficient in Microsoft Office including strong knowledge of formatting of Excel spreadsheets.-Prior retail experience a plus.-Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.-Demonstrated analytical ability.-Excellent time management and organizational skills.-Knowledge of the marketplace.-Possess a strong fashion sense and have the ability to interpret trends.-Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.-Ability to build strong relationships with other employees and vendors.-Possess a positive, can-do attitude that looks for solutions to problems and is always willing to pitch in where needed.
