Position Summary:
The Purchasing Coordinator plays a key role in supporting local staff with overseeing stock purchases, inventory management, and operational support to ensure the seamless flow of materials and resources. By ensuring accurate inventory levels, efficient purchasing practices, and effective cross-functional coordination with Sales, Systems and Service departments, the Purchasing Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the operational success of the Southeast Region.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Process Standard and Stocking POs
• Maintain Backordered Items Report
• Communicate w/Vendors regarding Backorders, Returns, Credits, Invoice, Tracking issues
• Maintain “Standard” PO Open Report and communicate with Manager about discrepancies
• Review, reconcile, and approve all invoices for stocking purchase orders
• Assist other Departments w/Returns, PO cleanup
• Perform Receiving and Shipping in Warehouse employee’s absence
• Perform Cycle Counts reconciliation & Adjust inventory as necessary in warehouse employee's absence
• Start the discrepancy resolution for the inventory adjustments as well as working with Sales and Operations to find causes and long-term resolutions
• Communicate with Vendors to update pricelists on the Barbizon Intranet
• Coordinate and execute all database updates
• Update NO Tabs on assigned vendors when necessary
• Order local office supplies as necessary
• Assist Manager with other duties as assigned
• Communicate and coordinate with Drop Ship Purchaser on trends
• Manage and edit Min/Max’s in each warehouse in coordination with Sales and Warehouse staff
• Manage and edit Deadstock items in each warehouse in coordination with Sales and Warehouse staff
• Process Drop Ship PO’s in employee's absence
Required Skills & Abilities:
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Self-motivated and able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
· Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and computerized inventory databases.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Minimum 4 years of experience in Purchasing or market specific materials knowledge.
· Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite and familiarity with UPS & FedEx shipping software.
· Data entry experience and high-level computer literacy.
· Prior experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAGE) is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
· General ability to navigate within an office environment.

The salary range for Purchasing Coordinator at Barbizon Lighting’s Capitol, VA location is currently $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per annum, depending upon experience. Please be aware, extensive industry experience or specific skills that fully match, or exceed what is required, may in fact increase this range. We strongly encourage all to apply.
