Purchasing Assistant

Hotel Purchasing/ Receiving Clerk


The Otesaga Resort Hotel is seeking to fill a full time position for a Purchasing/ Receiving Clerk


This position will directly support supply chain; performing the activities of receiving food and non-food deliveries. Required the ability to ensure invoices are accurate to the product received, recognize quality standards and ensure the proper rotation and storage of products. Must be able to communicate well with various departments and possess a strong teamwork mentality.


Primary Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Perform duties under the direction of supervisors, ordering, receiving and storing of food and non-food products.
  • Adhere to FIFO for food items storage.
  • Performs daily inventory checks to ensure proper levels for needs and cleanliness of storage spaces.
  • Performs monthly inventories.
  • Communicates delivery shorts with Purchasing Director.
  • Purchasing of assigned commodities
  • Ability to lift or carry 50 - 100 lbs. frequently, work in cold environments (coolers & freezers), on feet for long periods of time.
  • Pay attention to details, accuracy in counting, documenting and identifying product for quality.
  • Fulfilling requests from various departments for their daily function.
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a foodservice environment
  • Ability to read and understand invoices
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Communicate professionally (verbal and written) in a timely manner
  • Ability to learn and apply new information quickly with attention to detail
