Purchasing Manager

Doha, Qatar

We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations in our hospitality establishment. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing food and beverage items, hotel supplies, equipment, and services required for smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have strong vendor management skills and a deep understanding of the unique purchasing needs of the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with hotel operational needs and budget.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers for food & beverage, housekeeping supplies, maintenance items, uniforms, amenities, and capital goods.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with department heads (kitchen, housekeeping, engineering, etc.) to ensure timely restocking.
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance, including delivery timelines, quality compliance, and cost control.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with internal policies, hygiene standards, and local regulations.
  • Work closely with the finance team to monitor budgets, manage purchase orders, and reconcile invoices.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and inventory systems.
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations to align purchases with menu planning and event needs.
  • Implement sustainable and cost-effective purchasing practices wherever possible.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing in the hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, or restaurants preferred).
  • Familiarity with procurement software and hotel inventory systems.
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality purchasing trends.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and strong vendor management capabilities.
