We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead the company’s material sourcing, vendor relationships, and inventory strategy. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving cost savings, ensuring material availability, and supporting operational efficiency across the company.

Position Overview
The Purchasing Manager oversees all purchasing and inventory strategy, working closely with the Shop Manager and project teams. This role ensures MTScapes obtains the best pricing, quality, and delivery for materials, plants, tools, and equipment while minimizing waste and supporting the company’s operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase materials, plants, tools, and equipment at the best price without compromising quality.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure favorable terms, reliability, and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Manager to monitor inventory, anticipate material needs, and prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Track purchase orders, deliveries, and vendor performance to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and budget expenditures.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and process optimization.
  • Support project managers with timely procurement for upcoming projects.
  • Align purchasing strategy with company goals, providing input on budgeting and operational planning.
  • Mentor and guide Shop Manager or other operational staff on material usage and inventory practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in landscaping, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience managing budgets and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring or supervising staff.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to coordinate across shop, project, and leadership teams.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
