Purchasing Manager Job Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
• Managing all daily purchasing activities, supervising stockroom staff, and allocating tasks.
• Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
• Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
• Coordinating with production/inventory control/project management to determine and manage inventory needs based on schedules.
• Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Assisting with creating Bill of Materials cost estimates for new products and managing budgets.

Working to improve purchasing systems and processes

Purchasing Manager Requirements:

• Experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar position.
• Knowledge of the marine industry and boats a plus
• Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
• Supervisory and management experience.
• Proficiency in ERP, Quick Books, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
