Purchasing Officer

About the Role

We are hiring a Purchase Officer for our furnishing/interior décor business. The ideal candidate will handle vendor sourcing, material purchasing, documentation, and coordination with production & warehouse teams. Candidates with experience in fabrics, upholstery materials, blinds, accessories, wooden items, or furnishing-related procurement will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for furnishing materials including fabrics, foam, hardware, blinds components, stitching items, wood products, and décor accessories.
• Request quotations, prepare cost comparisons, and finalize competitive rates.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.
• Create and track purchase orders (POs) through ERP/system.
• Maintain vendor records, price lists, purchase documents, and material specifications.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and showroom teams for material requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid production delays.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, quantity, or shipment delays.
• Conduct market research to identify new materials, suppliers, and pricing trends.
• Verify invoices, delivery notes, and documentation for accuracy.

Requirements

• Minimum 14 years of education.
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement (furnishing/interior industry experience preferred).
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
