Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services required for automation projects (e.g., control systems, electrical components, PLCs). The role ensures cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, and compliance with company standards and UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Source and procure automation-related materials such as PLCs, sensors, control panels, cables, and industrial components
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) based on project requirements
  • Ensure materials are purchased according to technical specifications and project timelines

Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers (local & international)
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality and reliability
  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings

Coordination & Operations

  • Coordinate with engineering, projects, and warehouse teams for material planning
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery to avoid project delays
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment when required

Documentation & ERP

  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier data
  • Update procurement activities in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar)
  • Coordinate with finance for invoice verification and payment processing

Cost Control & Compliance

  • Analyze costs and identify opportunities for savings
  • Ensure procurement complies with company policies and UAE regulations
  • Support audits and prepare procurement reports

Technical Procurement (Automation Focus)

  • Source electrical & automation components (PLC, SCADA, VFDs, instrumentation)
  • Liaise with OEMs (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB suppliers)
  • Evaluate technical submittals with engineering teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Automation), Supply Chain, or Business Administration
  • 2–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in automation / MEP / industrial sector
  • UAE experience is highly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Knowledge of automation products and industrial supply chains
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

Salary Range (Dubai Market Insight)

  • :AED 3,500– AED 4,000

Reporting Line

  • Reports to: E- Commerce Manager
  • Works closely with: Sales, Technicians, Finance, and Warehouse teams
