Role:- QA Engineer

About the Opportunity:
Role Overview:
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of assigned features/modules by writing and executing test cases, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams. You'll contribute to both manual and light automation testing and help enforce QA best practices in a collaborative, Agile-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Case Design & Execution
- Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation to design robust test cases covering UI, API, functional, regression, and smoke testing.
- Ensure high coverage and accuracy of testing efforts, maintaining traceability to requirements.
- Actively participate in sprint testing cycles, feature validation, and release readiness activities.
Defect Identification & Reporting
- Log reproducible bugs with proper severity and priority using JIRA, including detailed steps, screenshots, and environment info.
- Validate defect fixes and perform regression to ensure no new issues are introduced.
- Help ensure rapid turnaround of defect triaging in collaboration with developers and the QA lead.
Test Documentation & Tracking
- Maintain and update test cases in test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
- Prepare and contribute to sprint test summaries, QA sign-offs, and checklists.
- Document test data, setup dependencies, and key test observations for team-wide reference.
Basic Automation & API Validation
- Execute API tests using Postman, write collections, and validate backend services.
- Contribute to or reuse existing automation test scripts for repeatable flows.
- Collaborate with Sr. QAs to learn and build foundational automation skills (Selenium, Cypress, etc.).
Agile Collaboration
- Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and actively communicate QA progress and blockers.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and align on acceptance criteria.
- Ensure testing timelines are aligned with sprint goals and delivery commitments.
Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Strong grasp of manual testing principles, STLC, and agile workflows.
- Hands-on experience testing web/mobile applications and APIs.
- Working knowledge of tools like JIRA, TestRail, Postman; familiarity with automation is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in identifying and escalating risks.
- Team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
