Key Responsibilities
- Represent the Client/Developer in overseeing and controlling QA/QC functions throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Verify that all construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, contract conditions, and relevant codes and standards.
- Evaluate and endorse contractor submissions, including Quality Management Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and material submittals.
- Carry out regular site inspections, quality monitoring activities, and internal audits to ensure workmanship aligns with project benchmarks.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors consistently apply approved quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Identify deviations from project requirements, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and follow up on corrective and preventive measures until proper closure.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client representatives to promptly address and resolve quality-related concerns.
- Witness site inspections, testing procedures, mock-ups, and trial installations in accordance with approved ITPs and specification requirements.
- Examine laboratory test results, material certifications, and compliance documentation to confirm conformity with project standards.
- Supervise material control processes, including delivery verification, storage compliance, approval tracking, and traceability.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date quality records such as inspection logs, testing reports, NCR registers, and handover documentation.
- Monitor quality performance across civil, architectural, finishing, and MEP interface works as applicable.
- Assist in reviewing and validating as-built drawings, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and final handover submissions.
- Promote quality awareness through toolbox talks and guidance sessions emphasizing workmanship standards and project quality objectives.
- Verify site readiness prior to inspections by clients, consultants, or authorities and ensure housekeeping standards meet quality expectations.
- Coordinate with site teams to manage snag lists and punch items, ensuring timely rectification and closure.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, consultants, and third-party inspection or testing agencies when required.
- Evaluate subcontractor quality performance and prepare periodic quality reports for the Client and Project Management team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in construction QA/QC, preferably within a client, consultant, or Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment.
- Strong understanding of construction specifications, quality management systems, inspection methodologies, and document control practices.
- Knowledge of local authority regulations and internationally recognized standards such as BS, ASTM, and ISO.
- Well-developed reporting, documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and key stakeholders.
