QA/QC Engineer (Electrical)

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical QC Engineer to join our construction team in Dubai. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in electrical installations throughout the construction project. The successful candidate will conduct inspections, monitor quality control procedures, and work closely with the project management team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure electrical works meet project specifications and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform inspections of electrical systems and installations (e.g., power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, etc.) to ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes, and international standards.

2. Prepare and implement detailed Method Statement (MS) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical works.

3. Conduct regular inspections of materials and equipment prior to installation, ensuring compliance with approved submittals.

4. Review electrical drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

5. Report and document non-conformities (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams.

6. Ensure all electrical works comply with UAE National Codes, international standards (IEC, BS, IEEE, NEC), and project specifications.

7. Stay up-to-date with any changes in local or international electrical codes and industry best practices.

8. Verify the technical correctness of electrical installations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

9. Maintain detailed records of all inspections, tests, certifications, and approvals of electrical materials and equipment.

10. Compile and submit quality control reports to the project manager, including progress reports, NCRs, and test results.

11. Coordinate and verify documentation for electrical commissioning and handover packages.

12. Work closely with the project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of electrical work within quality standards.

13. Provide technical support to resolve any electrical issues or concerns that arise on-site.

14. Review and verify shop drawings and material submittals for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with approved designs and standards.

15. Communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure quality materials and timely delivery of electrical components.

16. Ensure that electrical works are carried out following the highest safety standards and procedures.

17. Participate in safety meetings, identify potential electrical hazards, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.

18. Monitor and enforce adherence to electrical safety standards on-site (e.g., lock-out/tag-out procedures, electrical safety tests).

19. Oversee electrical system testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, earth resistance, and functional testing.

20. Ensure that electrical systems are properly commissioned and fully operational before handover.

21. Verify compliance of all electrical systems during final inspections and before the project's handover.
