We are looking for a Mechanical QC Engineer to join our construction team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical works on site meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety. The role involves conducting inspections, overseeing quality control procedures, and coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve mechanical issues on-site. This position requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering, an understanding of quality control processes, and hands-on experience in construction project environments.
1. Inspect and monitor the mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, drainage, etc.) during installation to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes.
2. Prepare and implement Method Statement (MS) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for mechanical systems.
3. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure all works conform to quality standards, safety regulations, and technical specifications.
4. Perform and document quality checks, material tests, and equipment verifications.
5. Identify, report, and follow up on non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
6. Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, approvals, and other QC documentation for mechanical works.
7. Prepare and submit quality control reports for project stakeholders, including progress reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
8. Verify material certifications, equipment specifications, and test results for compliance with project requirements.
9. Ensure all documentation aligns with the requirements set out by local authorities, industry standards, and the client.
10. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and project management teams to ensure all mechanical work meets the required standards.
11. Communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure smooth execution of mechanical work on-site.
12. Review shop drawings, submittals, and material approvals for mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design and standards.
13. Ensure all mechanical works comply with international codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, BS, NFPA, UAE Building Code).
14. Stay updated with the latest developments in mechanical engineering codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure that the project complies with industry standards.
15. Ensure that mechanical work is executed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
16. Monitor and promote safe working practices on-site, especially related to mechanical installations and system commissioning.
17. Report safety violations or hazards in mechanical work and ensure corrective actions are taken.
