Job Summary:
QA/QC Engineer will ensure that all engineering deliverables, designs, and project documentation comply with company/client/project quality standards, client/company specifications, and industry codes. The role focuses on quality control during the Concept, FEED and Detail engineering phase of oil & gas projects, working closely with engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation etc).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures, checklists, and inspection plans for detail engineering activities.
- Review engineering deliverables (P&IDs, datasheets, layouts, specifications, calculations, and drawings) for compliance with project standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Ensure engineering documentation is correctly prepared, approved, and controlled through document control systems.
- Perform vendor document review and verification as per project quality plan.
- Conduct discipline-specific design reviews and audits in collaboration with engineering leads.
- Identify non-conformances, discrepancies, and deviations in engineering work and coordinate with discipline engineers for corrective action.
- Support internal and client QA audits, inspections, and technical queries.
- Assist in preparation of quality reports, progress reports, and dashboards for project management.
- Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, ASTM, etc.) in all engineering work.
- Provide guidance and training to junior engineers on QA/QC procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas engineering projects (detail engineering phase preferred).
- Strong knowledge of engineering codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, IEC, etc.).
- Familiarity with engineering software (AutoCAD, SmartPlant, PDMS, PV Elite, CAESAR II, etc.) is an advantage.
- Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in engineering audits, vendor document review, and QA processes.
