QA/QC Lead Engineer
Job Summary: The Lead QA/QC Engineer will
oversee the Quality Assurance and Quality Control function, ensuring that all
products—including fire extinguishers, hose reels, pumps, fire-rated doors,
ducts, and specialized vehicles—comply with international standards, client
specifications, and regulatory approvals. This role provides strategic
leadership, manages certifications, and drives continuous improvement across
the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA/QC engineers across multiple product lines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in compliance with ISO, NFPA, UL, CE, BSI, INTERTEK, FM, and EN standards.
- Ensure all products and processes meet regulatory requirements and client specifications.
- Maintain product approvals and certifications with relevant authorities and classification societies.
- Review and approve technical documents, test reports, and inspection records.
- Establish and enforce QA/QC procedures, inspection plans, and testing protocols.
- Monitor KPIs and quality performance metrics; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, defect reduction, and supplier quality management.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, procurement, and store teams to ensure quality integration from design to delivery.
- Lead internal and external audits, including customer audits (government related) and regulatory inspections.
- Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices.
- Oversee quality processes specific to fire pumps and pump controllers.
- Verify production testing processes and ensure compliance with standards.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
- Supervise hydrostatic, leakage, and discharge testing processes.
- Identify non-conformities, analyze root causes, and implement CAPA.
- Maintain quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
- Manage documentation for UL and BSI certifications, including audit finding. corrective actions, and testing records.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- 8–10 years of QA/QC experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role within firefighting, safety equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in fire pumps and controllers.
- Strong knowledge of firefighting and safety equipment, fire protection systems, and related products.
- Hands-on experience with quality management systems, certifications, and approvals (ISO, NFPA, UL, CE, BSI, INTERTEK, FM, EN).
- Solid background in inspection, testing, process control, and compliance auditing.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
