QC Inspector

Job Purpose

To ensure that all joinery and woodwork products manufactured in the workshop and installed at site comply with approved shop drawings, project specifications, company quality standards, and client requirements. The QC Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections throughout the production process, identifying quality issues, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented before dispatch or installation.

Key Responsibilities1. Material Quality Inspection

• Inspect raw materials such as wood, laminates, veneers, hardware, and accessories to ensure they meet required quality standards.
• Verify materials against approved samples, specifications, and project requirements.
• Ensure materials used in production comply with approved material submittals.
• Report any non-conforming materials to the production or procurement team.

2. Production Stage Quality Inspection

• Conduct quality inspections at different stages of production including cutting, assembly, polishing, and finishing.
• Inspect joinery and woodwork items such as cabinets, doors, wardrobes, panels, and furniture during manufacturing.
• Ensure workmanship quality meets company standards and project specifications.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to approved drawings and fabrication methods.

3. Product Inspection Before Dispatch

• Inspect finished joinery products before dispatch from the workshop.
• Verify dimensions, alignment, finishing quality, polishing, laminates, veneers, and hardware fittings.
• Ensure products comply with approved shop drawings and technical specifications.
• Monitor proper handling, packing, and transportation of joinery items to avoid damage.

4. Site Quality Inspection

• Conduct inspections of installed joinery items at project sites.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, client requirements, and finishing standards.
• Verify alignment, leveling, fixing methods, and overall installation quality.
• Coordinate with site teams to address and rectify any defects or non-conformities.

5. Non-Conformance & Quality Issue Management

• Identify defects, damages, or non-conformities during production or installation.
• Report issues to production supervisors, project engineers, or site teams for corrective action.
• Follow up to ensure defects are rectified before dispatch or handover.
• Support corrective and preventive actions to improve quality performance.

6. Quality Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain proper inspection reports, quality checklists, and documentation.
• Prepare and update quality inspection records for workshop and site activities.
• Maintain documentation for internal quality audits and client inspections.
• Ensure compliance with company quality management procedures.

7. Coordination with Project & Production Teams

• Coordinate with production supervisors, designers, and site teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support engineers and project teams during inspections, testing, and approvals.
• Ensure clear communication of quality requirements to workshop and site teams.

Key Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in joinery and interior fit-out projects.
• Experience in joinery production and installation quality inspections.

Education

• Diploma or technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Carpentry, Wood Technology, or related field preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of joinery production processes and installation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of joinery materials, laminates, veneers, and hardware fittings.
• Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and reporting documentation.
