Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections on raw materials, components (e.g., lead grids, separators, electrolytes), and finished batteries in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and specifications.
- Conduct in-process checks during battery assembly (e.g., plate formation, electrolyte filling, charging process).
- Use measurement tools and equipment such as voltmeters, hydrometers, specific gravity testers, weight scales, and digital micrometers to verify product quality.
- Monitor and record data on parameters like voltage, capacity, electrolyte levels, internal resistance, and terminal torque.
- Identify, document, and report non-conformities and deviations from product standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to isolate defective batches and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, and relevant automotive quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation for audits and quality control logs.
- Participate in internal and external audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure workplace safety standards are maintained, especially when handling hazardous materials like sulfuric acid and lead.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of QC experience in the automotive or battery manufacturing sector, preferably with lead-acid battery products.
- Familiarity with quality tools and techniques such as 5S, 7 QC Tools, FMEA, CAPA, and SPC.
- Experience with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 systems.
- Basic understanding of battery performance parameters and testing methods.
- Proficiency in MS Office and QC reporting tools.
