QHSE Officer
(Quality, Health, Safety & Environment – Integrated Management System)
A. QMS Responsibilities (ISO 9001)1. System Management
- Develop, maintain, and update the Quality Manual, policies, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Ensure proper document control, version control, and revision management.
- Monitor and evaluate quality objectives and KPIs aligned with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and contractual requirements.
- Drive risk-based thinking and process improvement initiatives.
2. Internal Audit (Lead Auditor Role)
- Prepare annual internal audit program and schedule.
- Conduct internal audits as per ISO 9001 requirements.
- Prepare audit reports, observations, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Support external certification audits and client audits.
3. Customer & Process Control
- Handle customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) using appropriate tools.
- Monitor supplier quality performance.
- Ensure calibration of measuring and monitoring equipment.
- Lead Management Review Meetings (MRM) and prepare reports.
B. Environmental Management Responsibilities (ISO 14001)
- Identify environmental aspects and impacts.
- Ensure legal compliance with environmental regulations.
- Develop environmental objectives and improvement programs.
- Monitor waste management, emissions, and resource consumption.
- Promote sustainability and environmental awareness initiatives.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments.
C. Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities (ISO 45001)
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations (UAE Labour Law & HSE regulations).
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents.
- Implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety training, and emergency drills.
- Ensure PPE compliance and safe work practices.
- Monitor contractor safety performance.
D. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain IMS documentation as per ISO requirements.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain training records, audit records, and compliance registers.
- Coordinate with certification bodies and regulatory authorities.
E. Continuous Improvement
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implement Lean / Kaizen initiatives where applicable.
- Track and analyze performance data.
- Provide reports to top management.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards
- Lead Auditor Certification (preferred)
- Risk assessment & root cause analysis skills
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Quality / Safety / Environmental Science or related field
- 1–2 years of experience in QHSE / IMS management
- Certified Internal / Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 preferred)
- UAE industry experience (manufacturing / construction preferred)
