Qualified Accountant- UK Based Accounting Firm

· Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients.

· Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations.

· Handle day-to-day bookkeeping using cloud-based software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.

· Process UK payroll, including RTI submissions and pension auto-enrolment.

· Prepare and submit UK VAT returns under various VAT schemes.

· Communicate directly with clients to answer queries and provide expert guidance.

· Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Minimum 2 years of experience in UK accounting roles.

· Fully or part-qualified in ACCA, AAT, CIMA or similar.

· Strong knowledge of UK VAT rules, payroll legislation, and bookkeeping principles.

· Proficient with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Excel.

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client accounts.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Able to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.

· Experience with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).

· Knowledge of corporation tax and budgeting/forecasting.

· Previous experience working in an accounting practice environment.
