Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong expertise in the marble, stone, and granite industry, particularly within fit-out and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of GCC experience and a proven track record across both Pre-Contract and Post-Contract phases of construction projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Contract Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential, commercial, and civil fit-out projects.
- Analyze tender documents, BOQs, specifications, and drawings, identifying missing or incomplete information.
- Perform quantity take-offs and detailed cost analyses using digital estimation tools.
- Source, evaluate, and follow up on supplier and subcontractor quotations; respond to RFIs.
- Prepare competitive bid proposals, budgets, and pricing strategies aligned with project scope.
- Price materials, labor, equipment, overheads, and profit margins as per management directives.
- Coordinate with in-house teams, consultants, and stakeholders during the tendering process.
- Lead tender preparation, bid evaluation, commercial comparisons, and award recommendations.
Post-Contract Responsibilities
- Manage billing, variations, claims, and final accounts in compliance with contractual requirements.
- Administer contracts under FIDIC / PEC frameworks, including contractual correspondence, variations, claims, and Extension of Time (EoT) submissions.
- Review, verify, and certify Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) and reconcile subcontractor accounts.
- Monitor and control project costs, budgets, and forecasts; identify overruns and propose value engineering solutions.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, earned value analyses (EVA), and periodic cost reports for senior management.
- Conduct site inspections and progress assessments to verify executed quantities and resolve commercial issues.
- Assist in preparing site logistics plans, schedules, and execution strategies in coordination with project teams.
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks, supporting claims, dispute resolution, and negotiations.
- Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams on all commercial matters.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise QS and cost engineering teams, ensuring compliance and professional development
- Planning & Cost Control
- Develop, manage, and control project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts from pre-contract to post-contract stages.
- Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and contractual benchmarks.
- Utilize Primavera P6 for project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and integration of time and cost controls.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimation using PlanSwift, including BOQ generation and digital measurements.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification: MMUP Certification (Qatar Engineering Committee) – Mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to fit-out works and priority given to candidates with experience in marble, stone, and granite industries.
- Strong knowledge of the Qatar construction market, local pricing, and commercial practices.
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, tendering, billing, variations, claims, and project controls.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
