Civil Quantity Surveyor – High-Rise Buildings (UAE)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in high-rise residential and commercial building projects in the UAE. The candidate will be responsible for cost planning, contract administration, quantity take-offs, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with UAE construction standards and contractual requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Contract & Tendering
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs from drawings and specifications
- Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications for high-rise projects
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Assist in tender negotiations and contract award recommendations
Post-Contract & Cost Control
- Monitor and control project costs, budgets, and cash flow
- Prepare interim valuations, progress payments, and final accounts
- Assess and certify subcontractor invoices and variations
- Manage variation orders, claims, and change management
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts for senior management
Contract Administration
- Administer contracts (FIDIC or other UAE-standard forms)
- Evaluate extension of time (EOT) and cost claims
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients on contractual matters
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and UAE regulations
Site & Coordination
- Conduct site visits to verify progress and quantities
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams
- Resolve commercial and contractual issues on site
- Support project close-out, including final measurements and documentation
Requirements & QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
Experience
- 6–10+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Proven experience in high-rise residential/commercial buildings in the UAE
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction practices, materials, and suppliers
Technical Skills
- Expertise in quantity take-off, cost estimation, and cost control
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, CostX / PlanSwift / QS software
- Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction law
- Knowledge of authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, ADM, etc.)
