Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed construction estimates and budgets using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to determine material quantities and costs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and change orders with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms that align with project budgets.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, implementing cost control measures to prevent overruns.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure contractual compliance and effective communication.
- Review and analyze construction contracts, ensuring all terms are understood and adhered to during project execution.
- Support project management by providing timely financial reports, forecasts, and risk assessments to facilitate informed decision-making.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital document management and markup of drawings.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous pricing and contractual terms.
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar construction estimating software for accurate cost projections.
- Solid understanding of construction estimating processes, including quantity take-offs and bid preparation.
- Hands-on construction site experience to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting costs.
- Knowledge of construction management principles, including scheduling, resource allocation, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with contracts, legal considerations, and project documentation requirements.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
