Quantity Surveyor

We are Abu Dhabi Based company looking a responsible Quantity Surveyor for managing all costs related to building projects, from initial calculations to final completion. They ensure projects remain within budget by providing detailed cost estimates, preparing tender documents, monitoring expenses, and managing subcontractor payments.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Cost Estimation & Planning: Calculating quantities and estimating costs for materials, labor, and equipment during the design phase.
• Tendering & Contracting: Preparing tender packages, contracts, and "bills of quantities" (BOQ) to invite bids from contractors.
• Cost Control & Monitoring: Tracking expenses against the budget, managing project variations, and providing regular cost reports.
• Site Valuation & Payment: Conducting site visits to value completed work, authorize subcontractor payments, and manage cash flow.
• Risk Management & Negotiation: Identifying potential financial risks and negotiating with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure value for money.
• Final Account Settlement: Negotiating and closing out the final financial accounts of a project.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Excel.
• Analytical Ability: Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Communication: Excellent negotiation and communication abilities to liaise between clients, contractors, and architects.
• Professional Certification: RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) qualification is often preferred or required.
