The Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer is responsible for managing all cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and financial aspects of MEP and infrastructure projects. The role ensures accurate project budgeting, cost control, and compliance with contractual and financial requirements. The QS Engineer works closely with the technical office, procurement, and site teams to provide reliable data for decision-making and maintain profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications for all project disciplines (civil, electrical, and mechanical).

Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents.

Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify cost-related risks and opportunities.

Review subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring compliance with project requirements and cost-effectiveness.

Evaluate and certify subcontractor progress claims and invoices.

Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project cost summaries.

Monitor material consumption and compare it against approved budgets and BOQs.

Support in preparing variation orders and claims documentation.

Coordinate with procurement for cost control and budgeting of materials and services.

Ensure that all cost control and QS activities are in line with the company’s policies and project financial targets.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

3–7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP and/or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and contractual procedures.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel (advanced), and quantity surveying software.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost reporting.
