Quantity Surveyor – Tendering

Job Summary:

Consol Group is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor – Tendering with a strong background in construction, fit-out, and finishing works. The candidate will be responsible for managing all quantity surveying activities related to tendering, including cost estimation, contract administration, and financial control. The role requires expertise in handling variations, valuations, claims, payments, and reporting to ensure cost efficiency and project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Tendering & Estimation:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for accurate pricing
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis
  • Identify risks and opportunities during the tender stage
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations

Contract & Commercial Management:

  • Administer contracts in line with company policies and project requirements
  • Interpret contract terms and conditions and manage compliance
  • Support negotiation and finalization of contracts

Cost Control & Financial Management:

  • Monitor project budgets and ensure effective cost control
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements
  • Track project expenditures and recommend cost-saving measures

Variations, Claims & Payments:

  • Prepare and evaluate variations and change orders
  • Handle contractual claims and dispute resolution
  • Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
  • Manage progress payments and ensure timely invoicing

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams
  • Maintain proper documentation and records
  • Provide regular commercial updates to management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of GCC experience in quantity surveying and tendering
  • Strong experience in construction, fit-out, and finishing works
  • Preference for candidates with stone and marble project experience
  • In-depth knowledge of QS practices, cost estimation, and tendering processes
  • Familiarity with contract forms (e.g., FIDIC is an advantage)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and QS/estimation software
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
