Anticipated Hiring Range: $15.50 - $16.00/hour

The Summer Recreation Specialist is a seasonal non-benefited earning position and will work up to 30 hours/week. Rec on the Spot is a staffed, mobile recreation unit that will make scheduled stops at designated parks throughout the summer engaging youth and teens between ages 5-14 in fun activities. This position is responsible for leading activities for the Recreation On The Spot (ROTS) program and summer special event programs. The ROTS program operates Monday-Thursday of each week during the summer from mid-June to mid-August. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm and Wednesdays from 12pm-8pm. Additional special events includes Summer in the City (June 9th, 23rd & July 14th) events and the annual Fourth of July parade on July 2nd.

EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position will be primarily located at various City parks, possibly during inclement weather. This position works independently as well as closely with others. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet, but may be exposed to loud noises during various recreation activities.
