    Summary

    The Front Desk Receptionist is a key member of a dynamic team in the administration office, primarily responsible for providing reception and secretarial support for the office of the American School Dhahran. The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the school community, providing exceptional support and service to students, staff, parents, and visitors. This role supports the safe and secure environment of the school through a strong commitment to child protection and effective communication. Responsibilities include managing attendance records, directing phone and in-person inquiries, supporting administrative tasks, maintaining the reception area, and responding promptly to staff and student needs. The receptionist ensures a welcoming, efficient, and organized front office, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the school.

    Position Duties

    The successful candidate will be able to effectively:

    • Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
    • Excel in customer service to ASD visitors, including greeting and assisting with enquiries about the school.
    • Assist administrative support staff and administration with filing, typing, correspondence, and general office duties as required.
    • Answer and direct telephone enquiries.
    • Maintain and disseminate ASD information for enquiries.
    • Manage students' attendance records.
    • Maintain supplies and materials for all staff.
    • Respond to the classroom needs of the staff.
    • Respond to the needs and interests of the students.
    • Maintain the neatness and hospitality of the reception area.
    • Update the information media in the immediate reception area.
    • Provide assistance to substitute teachers.
    • Respond to urgent requests.
    • Exercise reasonable judgments.
    • Provide customer service and meet informational needs of all ASD stakeholders (staff, students, parents, and ISG personnel).
    • Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

    Qualifications and Knowledge

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.

    Experience and Skills

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Experience
    • Experience as a school receptionist (preferred).
    Skills
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly developed organizational skills.
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the use of IT in an administrative role.
    • Maturity to handle a range of situations.
    • Loyalty and a high level of confidentiality.
    • Ability to exercise reasonable judgment.
