Records Management Analyst

Job Description:
  • Assist Military Personnel Division (MILPERS) with NARA compliance and run an effective Records Management Program to support operations
  • Conduct an annual division-wide Records Management Assessment of the RIM program
  • Revise the file plan (as necessary) to incorporate; continue to maintain and destroy MILPERS records & files on a yearly basis; perform frequent audits/clean up and monitoring support of the shared drive to help maintain compliance in accordance with statutory and local requirements
  • Assist in establishing, digitizing, analyzing, and searching records when required
  • Support all processing requirements for FOIA/PA requests for AD in accordance with 5 U.S.C 552 (Freedom of Information Act), 5 U.S.C. 552a (Privacy Act), and DoDM 5200.01 “DoD Information Security Program: Overview, Classification, and Declassification Volumes 1-4”
  • Support records management of FOIA/PA cases by archiving and determining dispositions through established procedures and perform a variety of FOIA-related tasks (case establishment, review, redaction, coordination, correspondence, etc.)
  • Assist MILPERS personnel in processing the approximately 1,500 annual award and ETP packages that route through MILPERS for higher headquarters approval utilizing all applicable systems to include CATMS, e-mail, and hard copy routing
  • Provide direct support to the Assistant Director, MILPERS by providing office management services via a non-exhaustive list of minor duties as assigned



Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in information management related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Related experience and familiarity of laws, regulations, and guidance that govern records and FOIA processing in the federal government
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, reading comprehension, and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and work independently to identify and create solutions for issues surrounding program and personnel management
