We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator/Receptionist to join our team. This vital role involves managing patient referrals, coordinating appointments, authorizations and providing exceptional front-desk support to ensure smooth operational flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, medical office experience, and a thorough understanding of healthcare procedures and confidentiality standards.
<Responsibilities>
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient referrals, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling with various departments while maintaining efficient workflow.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures to facilitate patient billing processes.
- Manage medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Assist patients with inquiries related to appointments, insurance, and medical documentation in a professional manner.
- Utilize medical terminology accurately when documenting patient information and communicating with healthcare providers.
- Support the office team by handling administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining office supplies.
<Requirements>
- Proven experience working in a medical office environment with familiarity in medical terminology and records management.
- Knowledge of managed care processes, insurance verification procedures, and medical coding systems including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
- Experience with medical office software and electronic health record systems is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior experience in dental office settings is considered an asset.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
