This position will be a Central Office position with DORS but does not require the individual to be domiciled at Central Office in Jefferson City. However, it will be required that the individual selected be able to travel to Central Office as necessary for various meetings and other job requirements.
Office location may be discussed at time of interview.
The Regional Behavioral Health Specialist Manger (RBHSM) will manage the six regional Behavioral Health Specialists (RBHS). These positions assist Probation and Parole Officers in the field working with clients who have behavioral health needs (mental health, substance use and recovery, and treatment related to sexual offenses). The RBHS team does not provide direct services to clients. This position services as a resource and liaison for Probation and Parole Officers and community providers.
Help Probation and Parole Officers understand their clients' behavioral health needs and assist them in gaining and maintaining access to services.
Provide information on behavioral health and related resources across the state of Missouri.
Help coordinate continuity of care for placement, records requests, and information sharing as needed.
Review and interpret behavioral health screenings and records as needed.
Provide behavioral health information and occasional training for Department staff.
Assist with presentations, trainings, and outreach as appropriate, including Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training.
Serve as a liaison between Department staff and community providers and other stakeholders.
Assist with reentry service resource information as needed for offender's releasing from Department facilities.
Participate in Department and community meetings and workgroups as needed.
Collaborate with community resources, specialty courts, and other diversion programs as needed.
This position is supervised by the Behavioral Health Coordinator, Division of Offender Rehabilitative Services (DORS)
Qualifications - All you need for successMinimum Preferred Qualifications:
Four or more years of professional experience in counseling, social work, case management, or related field. License or certification eligibility is preferred, but not required.
Corrections, law enforcement, or criminal justice experience preferred, but not required.
