The Regional Human Resources Manager provides HR leadership and support across a defined region, working closely with campus and, in some cases, home office teams to ensure consistent, compliant, and effective HR practices. This role focuses on supporting leaders in day-to-day HR needs, employee relations, compliance, and workforce management, while ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide HR initiatives.

As part of a collaborative HR team in a high-growth organization, the Regional HR Manager plays a critical role in executing core HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, policy interpretation, and performance management, while ensuring the consistent implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives. This position works primarily with local and regional leadership to support operational success, foster a positive workplace culture, and provide guidance on people-related practices.

JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply HR expertise to support compliance, engagement, and performance across a multi-campus organization with a focus on vocational and skilled trades education.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and practices across the region while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for campus leaders, providing day-to-day guidance on HR matters and consistent interpretation of policies.
  • Advise and support campus leaders on employee relations issues, including investigations, performance management, corrective actions, and workplace complaints.
  • Coach managers on effective application of company policies and procedures to foster a fair and positive workplace culture.
  • Monitor employee relations, engagement, and compliance trends, recommending practical solutions to reduce risk and enhance the employee experience.
  • Collaborate with campus leadership and internal teams on key employee lifecycle activities, such as onboarding, offboarding, leaves of absence, and performance reviews.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and campus leadership to support recruitment and onboarding efforts, ensuring smooth handoffs and a positive candidate experience.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives—including policy updates, process improvements, and compliance programs—while maintaining accurate documentation and updates in HR systems (e.g., ADP, HRIS).
  • Collaborate with corporate HR team members to ensure regional practices align with enterprise-wide standards and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS


  • Minimum of seven (7) years of broad-based HR experience required, including employee relations, compliance, benefits, and training/development.
  • Experience supporting both exempt and non-exempt employees, with the ability to navigate the distinct needs of each workforce type in a dynamic, trade-based environment.
  • Previous experience managing HR staff is preferred. While this position may or may not have direct reports, the ability to coach, mentor, and influence others is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment legislation for the assigned region.
  • Demonstrated experience advising and supporting leaders on employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience guiding leaders through employee relations matters and recommending practical HR solutions.
  • Familiarity with implementing HR processes, policies, and programs within a multi-site or regional environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to balance compliance and employee experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams); ADP or HRIS experience a plus.
  • Experience working in vocational education, skilled trades, or similar environments preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and/or overnight for business needs.

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:


SHRM CP/SCP or CPTD (preferred, but not required)

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time Role: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Remote and campus/office environments
  • This role is anticipated to require some travel
