Job Purpose:

The Regional Merchandising Manager is responsible for delivering “Added Value Excellence” within merchandising, date code policy, market/price survey, product sampling, product promotion and POSM as well as, providing leadership to merchandising teams across locations to ensure “best in class” execution of company standards in order to influence the shopper’s choice in favor of Al Safi Danone products.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and recommend the Merchandising section budget by conducting detailed analysis and preparing data based on historical actuals and future plans.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the Merchandising section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Manage the daily operations of Merchandising section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards.
  • Implement NPL process in coordination with Trade-Marketing and Marketing in terms of shelf space, merchandising, use of POSM, prices on shelf and sampling, translate the requirements/roadmap into actionable instructions for sales and merchandising teams, and track and monitor execution via the Regional Sales and Merchandising teams.
  • Maintain database in head office with details and pictures of promotional displays by major account, channel and location clearly showing adherence to standards and effective use of POSM.
  • Develop comprehensive “Merchandising Manual” clearly setting out the ASD merchandising strategy and requirements. Define and create templates to monitor the activity of the merchandising team at location level specifically in relation to productivity and achievement of company objectives in the marketplace.
  • Plan all the routes efficiently to achieve the set target enabling the team to carry out their responsibilities smoothly.
  • Ensure the quality of all in-store executions, including (POSM, Rented space & fridges conditions) in order to maximize products availability.
  • Train, develop and lead merchandising team across locations to achieve expectations of merchandising manual and guidelines leading to “world class” execution.
  • Ensure an effective Merchandising organization, required number and quality of people, and people management in line with ASD HR policies, to enable the realization of the Merchandising targets including maintaining required localization ratio.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent.
  • 8 - 10 years relevant experience in FMCG including at least 4 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
