Summary

Under the direction of the department manager and supervision of a Charge Nurse/Team Lead, demonstrates proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, contributes to the nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Develops and participates in the care plan of the patient.

Qualifications

Required:

Current and unencumbered licensure or Interim Permit as a Registered Nurse (RN) through the Nevada State Board of Nursing
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers

Preferred:

Bachelors of Science in Nursing

Unit Specific Requirements:

Medical Oncology

Required:

Must successfully complete non-violent crisis intervention within 6 months of hire or position entry.

Preferred:

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or a recognized Oncology Nurse Society Chemo certification
Chemotherapy Experience

Sierra Post-Op

Required:

American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers within 90 days of employment.

Preferred:

Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (CMS-RN)
Orthopedic Nurse Certified (ONC)

Surgical Orthopedics

Required:

National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within 6 months.
Neurosurgical course completion within 6 months.

Preferred:

American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers
Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (CMS-RN)
Orthopedic Nurse Certified (ONC)

Telemetry

Required:

American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers within 90 days of employment.
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within 6 months.
ECG Rhythm Interpretation Course within 6 months of employment.

Preferred:

Progressive Care Cardiac Nursing (PCCN) national, board certification.
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) national, board certification.
