Registered Respiratory Therapist IV (RRT) - Internal Float Pool

Position Summary

This Enterprise Respiratory Care Practitioner Pool position will be under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director of Respiratory Care, Director of Respiratory Care, and local RT Manager. They will function in a safe, expedient, and cost-effective manner in providing, responding to patient needs and documenting respiratory care and services provided.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner Pool Will be placed on the hiring tier per HR T/A. They will be assigned to one of the ECU Health hospital groups as defined. They will be required to be competency completed for all nine ECU Health Hospitals. If requested by the Respiratory Care Director they will be expected to cover Hospital assignments outside of their Home group.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be RRT with 3 years' experience (two of these may include clinical time in a COARC accredited BSRT program. Must hold a BS degree (BSRT) preferred)
• At least 50% of worked hours are spent in acute clinical Respiratory care services.
• ACLS, PALS, BLS and NRP are required at time of hire.
• RCP's with at least three years' experience as an RRT working in the adult or regional hospital services must have one of the following certifications:
  • NBRC NPS, also reported as Reg. Resp. Therapist neonatal/ Pediatrics
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty - NBRC (ACCS) 4
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist NBRC (RPFT)
  • Sleep Disorders Specialty NBRC (SDS)
  • Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C)

Pay Range

• RRT IV pay range begins at 35.50 per hour
• Shift Differentials Available
• 20% - 25% Pay Premium Included
• 15K or 30K Commitment Bonus Available
