Relationship Manager

Responsibilities

  • Acquiring new clients & managing a portfolio of Government clients (Central + State PSU's+ Autonomous Bodies+ Educational Institutions+ Religious Trusts)
  • Ensure a strong relationship with existing accounts.
  • Focus on offering financial solutions & cross selling.
  • Actively and consistently seek an opportunity to expand share of wallet of the customer base
  • Build knowledge of all the products being offered to customers.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with operations to ensure smooth delivery of transactions
  • Implement marketing plans.
  • Articulation of customer requirements to the product teams and work closely for product development to ensure customer needs are met
  • Co-ordinate with financial markets, investment banking and retail banking teams to ensure synergies in cross selling products to government/PSU customers
  • Determining the skills and manning levels required for effective delivery of services

Essential Competencies

  • Good network and knowledge of the working of the GOI/State Governments/PSUs and nuances of relationship management with key influencers in the bureaucracy
  • Knowledge of government banking marketing concepts & experience in developing, launching and scaling up funded/advisory product lines
  • Entrepreneurial thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and be very effective in a matrix organization
  • Understanding of technology in banking

Education

Essential: MBA from a reputed institute

Preferred: NA

Experience

Essential: 6-8 years of banking experience of which at least 3-4 years should be in Government Banking in client account management.

Preferred: Experience handling Government clients
