About the Role
TeamFicient is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Front Desk Associate to join our healthcare team in a remote capacity. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth front desk operations and exceptional patient experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, healthcare industry knowledge, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing professional and compassionate assistance with inquiries and concerns
- Manage comprehensive front desk operations to ensure efficient patient flow and administrative processes
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing calls to appropriate departments as needed
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances in accordance with practice policies
- Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize patient scheduling and minimize wait times
- Process patient intake forms and ensure all required documentation is complete
- Handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and privacy standards
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical front desk, medical receptionist, or healthcare administrative roles
- Strong customer service skills with a patient-centered approach
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Reliable internet connection and appropriate home office setup for remote work
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures
- Understanding of insurance verification processes and patient billing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Epic EHR system
- Bilingual capabilities (English and Spanish or other languages)
- Medical office certification or relevant healthcare training
- Experience in specialty medical practices
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote patient coordination
