Remote Pharmacy Technician (VA License)

Position Summary

Rx3 Compounding Pharmacy is seeking a Remote Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations through patient communication, prescription processing, and administrative coordination. This customer-facing role serves as a key liaison between patients, healthcare providers, pharmacists, and the on-site team, ensuring accurate, timely service while delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming patient and provider phone calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while assisting with prescription questions, refill requests, and order updates.
  • Enter and update patient and prescription information accurately.
  • Process digital faxes and electronic prescription communications.
  • Communicate with providers regarding prescription information and documentation.
  • Coordinate with pharmacists and on-site staff to ensure timely resolution of patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate records while complying with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure is required.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail, specialty, compounding, or mail-order pharmacy.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Experience with PioneerRx preferred; experience with comparable pharmacy management systems is also welcome.
  • Experience using RingCentral or similar cloud-based phone systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and phone etiquette.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Previous remote work experience is helpful but not required.

Work Environment

  • Work from home between the hours of 9am – 6pm Monday thru Friday.
  • Company-issued laptop and secure remote access provided.
  • Initial training completed on-site.
  • Required on-site attendance approximately two days per month for team meetings, training, and collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $18-20/hr commensurate with experience
  • Full-time or part-time opportunity available
  • Opportunity to work with an established nationally accredited compounding pharmacy.
