Remote Public Health Analyst - Epidemiology

Public Health Data Analyst (Epidemiology)
Remote – Phoenix, AZ (local candidates only)

A statewide public health organization is seeking a Public Health Data Analyst with epidemiology experience to support disease surveillance and outbreak investigations.

This role is primarily remote with occasional in-office collaboration in the Phoenix area.

Candidates must live locally and be able to attend an in-person interview and start quickly.

Schedule
Remote most days
Occasional office visits (1–2 times per month)

Mileage reimbursement provided for approved travel to counties or conferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze surveillance data related to communicable diseases and healthcare associated infections
  • Conduct epidemiologic investigations and assist with outbreak detection
  • Perform statistical analysis using epidemiologic methods
  • Prepare reports and dashboards using charts, graphs, and data visualization tools
  • Maintain surveillance databases and ensure data quality
  • Provide technical guidance to public health partners and agencies
  • Assist with literature reviews and program evaluation activities

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Biology or related science field
Up to two years of relevant data analysis or epidemiology experience

OR

Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or related science field

  • Public health program evaluation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Data visualization and reporting

Additional Requirements

  • Must live in the Phoenix metro area at time of submission
  • Must be available for an in-person interview within one week of posting close
  • Must be able to start within two weeks of offer
