Remote Tax Expert, CPA or EA

<Duties>

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for diverse client profiles, ensuring compliance with current regulations and laws.
  • Conduct detailed tax planning and consulting sessions to identify opportunities for deductions, credits, and strategic financial moves.
  • Analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to support accurate tax reporting and financial analysis.
  • Assist clients with estate planning strategies involving wills, trusts, and estate law to optimize wealth transfer and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Reconcile accounts using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms to ensure precise financial recordkeeping.
  • Perform audits and internal reviews related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support mergers & acquisitions by conducting due diligence reviews and financial analysis related to corporate restructuring or asset management.
  • Provide guidance on GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), technical accounting standards, and financial concepts relevant to client needs.
  • Facilitate non-profit accounting tasks including fund accounting, grant management, and compliance reporting.
  • Collaborate with clients on budgeting, financial planning, asset management, and investment strategies to enhance their financial health.

<Skills>

  • Extensive knowledge of tax experience across various industries with a focus on estate planning, securities law, public accounting, and corporate accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools for bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP standards, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and regulatory reporting.
  • Expertise in financial analysis techniques including account reconciliation, analysis skills, financial report writing & interpretation.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures along with auditing practices for internal controls assessment.
  • Ability to handle complex financial concepts related to mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, asset management & financial planning.
  • Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for account analysis and reconciliation tasks.
  • Effective communication skills for translating technical accounting data into clear reports for clients or stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and accounts payable procedures within a financial services context.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a remote setting.
