Scope of Work
The Parts Inventory Specialist I plays a crucial role in managing the critical inventory of parts required for our repair team. This entry-level role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our repair services by accurately identifying, organizing, receiving, shipping, and managing the flow of necessary components. The Parts Inventory Specialist I will also be responsible for processing Dead-On-Arrival (DOA) parts and processing units that are Awaiting Parts (AWP), according to established procedures. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, the repair team and other departments.
Responsibilities
- Part and Device Running: Safely and efficiently transport computer parts, unrepaired /repaired units, and units awaiting repair between storage areas, workstations/cells, and other locations. Record movement of devices in internal system, following the correct flow of devices.
- Parts Identification and Matching: Accurately identify and match parts based on repair needs. Ensure the correct parts are available for the repair technicians. Minimize parts mismatches.
- Inventory Organization and Management: Organize and maintain the parts inventory in a logical and efficient manner, ensuring easy access and accurate tracking. Adhere to established inventory management procedures.
- Receiving Incoming Parts: Receive incoming parts shipments, verify quantities against packing slips and parts orders, inspect for damage, and accurately record received items in the inventory system.
- Shipping Outgoing Parts: Prepare and package parts for shipment to repair locations or vendors, ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Report parts returns to necessary entities as needed.
- Inventory Accuracy and Cycle Counts: Participate in regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies. Assist with periodic full inventory audits.
- Maintaining Inventory Records: Accurately update and maintain inventory records in the designated system, including part numbers, quantities, locations, and status.
- Communication with Repair Team: Effectively communicate with repair technicians regarding parts availability, lead times, and any potential issues.
- Maintaining a Clean and Organized Parts Area: Ensure the parts storage area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while handling and storing parts.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor & Project Lead.
Preferred Qualifications
· Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel
· Basic computer skills, including data entry and navigating inventory management software.
· Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Basic understanding of inventory management principles is preferred.
· Physical ability to lift and move parts and inventory (see Physical Requirements below).
Physical Requirements
- This position requires the ability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50+ pounds short-to-medium distances.
- Physical exertion may be required, including standing for extended periods, walking throughout the facility, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
- Must possess sufficient physical dexterity to manipulate tools and equipment as needed.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment where temperatures and conditions may fluctuate.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
