1. Clinical Leadership:
- Supervise all clinical departments and ensure proper coordination among departments.
- Ensure availability of adequate medical and paramedical staff.
- Monitor the quality of medical services delivered.
- Ensure timely patient rounds and care by physicians.
- Promote implementation of evidence-based practices.
2. Administrative Oversight:
- Coordinate between hospital management and medical staff.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, statutory laws, and regulatory guidelines.
- Supervise duty rosters, leave management, and performance of medical officers.
- Maintain discipline and professional conduct among clinical staff.
3. Quality and Compliance:
- Implement and monitor quality assurance and patient safety programs.
- Support NABH/JCI/ISO accreditation processes.
- Investigate and resolve medical complaints and clinical incidents.
- Promote infection control practices.
4. Training and Development:
- Facilitate ongoing medical education (CME), workshops, and clinical training.
- Supervise the performance of interns, residents, and junior doctors.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend training programs.
5. Strategic Planning and Improvement:
- Contribute to hospital policy development, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate clinical performance metrics and suggest improvements.
- Lead or participate in committees like the Medical Advisory Board, Ethics Committee, and Hospital Quality Council.
