Summary:
The Research Assistant will conduct research assistance under faculty supervision on U.S. elections, voting administration, and voter turnout. The assistant will also collect and clean archival data from websites and communicate with state and local public officials.
Essential Functions:
Conduct original data collection from archival web sources.
Email and phone communication with state and local officials to locate data.
Interpret legislation and legal documents.
Possible work coding and web scraping, depending on familiarity.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time.
Student.
5 hours per week.
Salary Range:
Required Education and Experience:
Familiarity with Excel and Google Sheets required.
Ability to communicate with public officials.
Attention to detail.
Collaboration with multiple workers.
Ability to work independently and willingness to learn new skills.
Full-time enrollment at AU is required.
