Job Summary

A Research Investigator position is available in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School. The candidate will work on projects to determine the molecular mechanisms that regulate HIV-1 particle formation and infectivity of the virus particles using advanced quantitative microscopy techniques.

Required Qualifications*

PhD in molecular virology and 4+ years of postdoctoral experience are required. Prior and demonstrable experiences in 1) infectious HIV-1 experiments, 2) method development in advanced/quantitative microscopy, and 3) application of multiple super-resolution microscopy techniques based on different principles, such as Expansion Microscopy, STORM, and DNA-PAINT, to basic HIV-1 research are also required for this position. Experiences in protein-lipid and protein-RNA interaction studies using super-resolution microscopy and live-cell imaging techniques are highly advantageous
