Job Purpose:
To support the Policy and Research Department in developing evidence-based research products that inform health policy discussions and WISH’s strategic priorities. And to contribute to literature reviews, evidence syntheses, and policy-oriented outputs under the supervision of the Director of Policy and Research.
Key Result Areas:

Policy Research and Evidence Synthesis:
Conduct desk-based research and literature reviews, synthesize evidence, and prepare background papers to support WISH policy outputs.

Policy Translation:
Assist in drafting policy briefs, reports, and position papers that translate evidence into practical policy insights.

Research Support:
Support comparative analyses of global health policy approaches and map emerging trends in health policy and innovation.

Content Development:
Prepare presentations, briefing notes, and other written material for policy-related meetings, events, and publications.

Stakeholder Engagement Support:
Assist in liaising with partner organizations, think tanks, and policy networks to gather secondary insights and evidence.

Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with WISH colleagues, consultants, and research institutions to ensure quality and consistency of outputs.

Event Support:
Contribute to the preparation and delivery of WISH policy forums, roundtables, and the annual Summit.

Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks as required in support of departmental objectives.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

High School Diploma, a Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Policy, International Health, Social Sciences, or a related discipline is an advantage.

2 - 5 years of relevant full-time work experience in research or policy (internships or project assistant roles accepted). And, experience in conducting literature reviews, policy analysis, or report writing in an academic, nonprofit, or think-tank environment preferred.

Strong desk research and analytical skills; ability to summarize and critically appraise evidence.

Understanding of global health policy challenges and innovation trends.

Familiarity with research databases and reference management tools.

Experience with bibliographic/reference management software (e.g., EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero) is desirable.

Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage

Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
