Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology seeks a candidate to join our team as a Research Technician. Under the guidance of Rhese Thompson and Daniel Dominguez, the research technician will perform biochemical and molecular biology experiments to better understand protein interactions with mRNA therapeutics.

The primary duties for this position include plasmid assembly, protein expression, protein purification and biochemical and biophysical characterization. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, precise record-keeping, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional responsibilities encompass receiving and documenting reagents, supplies, and equipment, adhering to safety protocols, disposing of chemical and biohazard waste, maintaining lab equipment in good working condition, and communicating results during lab meetings.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Demonstrated ability to execute planned experiments, analyze data, and present data. Strong organization skills required.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in molecular biology or biochemistry.
