The Residential Landscape Operations Manager is a crucial, high-visibility role responsible for the successful execution of multiple residential landscape installation projects. You will be the primary on-site liaison, ensuring adherence to scope, quality, and schedule while cultivating strong, positive relationships with our residential clients. This role requires frequent travel between project locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Project Oversight: Travel consistently between sites to provide hands-on, proactive oversight of all construction activities, ensuring work meets specifications, plans, and safety protocols.
- Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Residential Project Manager (RPM) to monitor progress, allocate resources, identify roadblocks, and report status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
- Client Relations: Serve as the main on-site point of contact for clients. Cultivate and maintain excellent rapport through professional, transparent communication, promptly resolving issues to ensure high client satisfaction.
- Business Growth: Proactively identify opportunities for future maintenance contracts, warranty work, and additional construction phases with existing clients.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks, enforcing high standards of craftsmanship and materials.
- Documentation: Ensure all on-site progress, changes, and client communications are accurately documented in the project management system.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional Depth: Minimum 5-10 years of professional, hands-on experience in the landscape industry with a comprehensive understanding of diverse landscaping techniques, routine maintenance, and installation procedures.
- Supervisory Experience: Over 5 years of successful experience supervising landscaping crews.
- Horticultural Mastery: Deep, proven knowledge of regional and common landscape plant materials, including identification, proper planting, effective pruning, pest/disease management, and seasonal care.
- Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills for professional client interaction, relationship maintenance, and articulating complex concepts.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge and ability to safely and effectively operate various landscape-related heavy equipment and specialized power tools.
- Bilingual Skills: Fluency in English and a second language (e.g., Spanish) is highly beneficial.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
- Occasional ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
