Position Summary:

The Restaurant Captain is responsible for supervising the service team on the floor, ensuring smooth restaurant operations, excellent guest service, accurate order taking, timely food delivery, and maintaining service quality standards. The Captain coordinates between guests, waiters, kitchen, and cashier to ensure a professional and memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Guest Service & Order Management

  • Welcome guests warmly and escort them to tables when needed.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and make recommendations.
  • Take guest orders accurately and clearly, ensuring all special requests or allergies are properly communicated to the kitchen.
  • Double-check all orders before sending to kitchen or bar.
  • Follow up on food preparation status and ensure timely delivery.
  • Serve food and beverages professionally following service standards.
  • Handle complaints politely and solve issues, informing supervisor when required.

✅ Team & Floor Supervision

  • Assign tables to waiters and ensure each section is properly covered.
  • Monitor staff performance and guide service team during operations.
  • Assist in training waiters on service sequence, menu knowledge, and guest handling.
  • Ensure restaurant cleanliness, table setup, cutlery, and glassware standards.

✅ Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar for smooth order flow.
  • Communicate clearly any modification, allergy, VIP guest, or special request.
  • Check tables before serving to ensure correct presentation and portion.

✅ Cash & Billing Support

  • Assist in bill preparation and verify all items are correctly recorded.
  • Support cashiers in closing bills and matching orders if needed.

✅ Standards & Safety

  • Ensure restaurant follows hygiene, food safety, and grooming standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues immediately (AC, lights, chairs, tables).

Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in food service as Captain or Senior Waiter.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good command of English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Team leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and order-taking procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism.
