Job Overview

Duties

  • Greet guests warmly, provide menus, and guide them through our offerings with enthusiasm and detailed knowledge.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems ensuring timely and correct delivery.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
  • Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales by highlighting specials or premium options.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning bar areas, and adhering to food safety protocols.
  • Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or traditional cashiering methods.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food preparation and timely service for all guests.
  • Engage with guests to foster positive relationships, handle special requests professionally, and resolve any concerns promptly.
  • Assist in food handling and preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations during busy periods.
  • Uphold sanitation standards through proper food handling practices and adherence to health regulations in both bar and dining areas.

Experience

  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred, especially in fine dining or upscale environments where attention to detail is crucial.
  • Experience working with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability in customer service roles within the food industry, including serving, bartending, or host/hostess positions.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques is essential.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume shifts.
  • Familiarity with upselling techniques to enhance guest experience while increasing sales revenue.
  • Experience working in nightclubs or bustling hospitality settings is a plus for managing lively atmospheres effectively.   • This is a full time seasonal position. You will be working 30-40 hours a week from Spring to Fall
  • Must have previous restaurant experience
  • You will need to take a background check
  • The pay rate is $17 per hour plus tips
  • We are located in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn
